Kannada Movie Dweepa Info

Plot
Based on the novel with the same title by Norbert D'Souza, Dweepa deals with the raging issue of building dams and the displacement of natives. Located in the backwaters of a dam, Sita Parvata is an island slowly submerging due to the rains. The government succeeds in evacuating the inmates of the island by giving them compensation for the properties they own. The village temple priest Duggajja, his son Ganapa and his daughter in law Nagi find it impossible to leave their homeland and make a living with the meagre compensation given by the government. They have but a small hut, which earns them a compensation of INR25,000. In Ganapa's own words, the compensation can give them food and shelter, but cannot compensate for the love and respect of their people. On the island, they are important people, but outside, they would be one among hundreds of families struggling to make a living. Centered around this complex theme, the film narrates the struggles of the family and how ultimately in the end they manage to continue life on the island.

The 'inner' theme
As in all of Girish Kasaravalli's films, Dweepa too deals with an 'inner' theme, that of human minds that isolate themselves due to former beliefs and convictions. Each character emerges as a representation of different viewpoints. The protagonist Nagi (Soundarya) has been portrayed as an optimistic character whose support is hope and only that. One can notice how the character finally emerges as a symbol of positive thinking and optimism. Ganapa (Avinash), on the contrary resigns to fate, and finally when they narrowly escape submersion, he fails to see that his wife had achieved the impossible. Duggajja (M.V.VasudevaRao) withdraws from the catastrophe rather than face it. He is devastated to see his convictions and beliefs crumble before his very eyes and in the end, he clings to his beliefs in desperation. Krishna (Harish Raju) portrays a typical dreamer, who can mesmerize these village folk with fairy tales about the world beyond the isolated island. In short he encapsulates the 'fantasy' world we all tend to dream about.

Queen Actress Soundarya Interview

Interview Excerpts :
I met up with Tollywood, Kollywood (Karnataka) and Mollywood's current Queen Midas- Soundarya - when she was in town recently shooting with apna Venky. When I reached the sets they were reharsing for this one step in this one song that required umpteen retakes. I fretted about her mood for the interview, but she was unruffled. I'd like to think I was a welcome change from Venky and the posse of extras! ! Anyhow, let it be on record that Soundarya is completely cooperative and friendly.

Punam: Is that your real name?

Soundarya: No it's Soumya. But everyone thought Soundarya is better as a screen name.

Punam: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Soundarya: I hardly have any spare time! But when I do, I garden a lot - I love plants and flowers. And I like listening to music. I like cooking but I don't know much and whenever I enter the kitchen, my mother sends me out! Because whenever I try a dish from a book, it comes out bad.

Punam: Why haven't you signed any Hindi banners after Sooryavansham?

Soundarya: I didn't really get very interesting offers. Although working with Amitabh Bacchan was a different experience altogether, I just enjoyed it. If I have to do something, I feel I should do it perfectly, and ofcourse, Hindi language is a problem. Plus, in the North, it's not only the language but also the time taken for production - even the artiste loses interest. I'm really enjoying my career here, enjoying the roles I'm getting. I worked hard to get to this position, and I'm popular here.

Punam: Is there any particular role you would like to essay?

Soundarya: I'd like a negative role.

Punam: That would be a little difficult, with an innocent face like yours?

Soundarya: Everyone tells me that I have a very sweet face! I'd like to change that. I wish I had a more flexible face!

Punam: Did you always want to join films?

Soundarya: Not at all, I wanted to go into medicine. I took science in college. But my dad was a Producer - Director in Kannada films, and someone saw me, and one thing led to another.

Punam: How do you get along with your competition?

Soundarya: As far as I'm concerned I've never had a problem with anybody, no rivalry.

Punam: What do you have to say about the Raj Kumar kidnapping?

Soundarya: That is really bad, he is such a respected man. In fact, out of respect, we are not shooting also, the Kannada film industry is on a complete halt.

Punam: Doesn't this make you worry about security?

Soundarya: See, ya, we do try and there is security, but beyond that, what can you do?

Punam: Is it alright for film stars to endorse brands in the rampant manner they've suddenly started?

Soundarya: There's nothing wrong in doing ads, especially if they're paying good money. I've recently done a South one for Tata tea.

Punam: What is your ultimate ambition?

Soundarya: I'd like to be successful in life. Today I'm successful in films, but once I leave, I'd like to extend that to my life. I'd like to be known for my character. I was never very ambitious, always a dreamer, Financially, things may have changed, but I haven't, as a person.

Punam: How good are you with money?

Soundarya: Luckily I have a brother who looks after my administration and my money, because I'm a total spendthrift. I can spend hours in a shop. I love hats, shoes, outfits, handbags, and ethnic jewelery. But if I had to do it, handle money, then I think I could be responsible, yes.

Confident Girl !

Biography:
Nagarjuna, son of the Ever Green Hero Akkineni Negeswara Rao, needs no introduction. Nag's foray into films is an act of passion. Vikram(1986), his debutante film (a Telugu remake of Hindi Hero), made a splash at the hearts of youth. Being just 4 films old he proved that he can match his father's image as a tragedy king with a lovely film called 'Majnu'. He developed the strategy of inducting debutante directors to his films with Sankeerthana. Though this musical saga did not sustain at box-office, Nag has gone a step ahead as an actor.

He paired up with his legendry father Sr Akkineni to produce 'Collectorgari Abbai'. But it was the Midas touch of Aswini Dutt that proved Nag's Box-office credentials. For the first time he paired up with Sridevi, who has done innumerable films with Nag's father Nageswara Rao, in the film 'Akhari Poratam' that ran for 100 days in 12 centers.

It was 'Geetanjali' that has taken Nag's image as a romantic hero to new heights. Deft direction by Manirathnam and crafty camera work by PC Sriram added to necessary gloss to the romantic image of nag. If you think Geetanjali is a big hit. You are in a soup. Because the box-office magnitude of 'Geetanjali' appears minuscule compared to the stormy film that followed which has taken all the youth's heart away. 'Shiva' gave Nag much needed action Hero image and Nag made inroads into the hearts of students. Ultimate winner of 'Shiva' is none but Ram Gopal Varma, a raw director. It was the Nag's risky decision to employ a video operator as the director for his home production that did the trick. All the scorning critics who criticized Nag for his decision to choose Varma during the production of film are silenced by it's stupendous success.

Fueled by the success of Shiva, Nag made a grand entry into Hindi filmdom with the remake of 'Shiva'. If you think Nag is fond of Shiva just because it changed the pace of his cine career, you are mistaken. This film has also got him Amala, his soul mate.

After the storm of Shiva, there was a period lull for sometime. Again Nag stormed with 'President gari pellam' brough him the imageof mass hero. And his heavy box office romancing continued till Hello Brother. Hello Brother showed the stamina of Nag at box office by running in 28 centers. His comic antics are best exploited by the director EVV. With this film Nag's portfolio of acting is enriched with a rich ingredient called comedy.

Again the period of lull continued for few years till he spotted another creative director in making, Krishna Vamsi. Nag paired up with Vamsi to produce one of the biggest Telugu romantic blockbusters, 'Ninne Pelladatha'. After this film Nag faced the biggest challenge in his cine career. That is to act as Annamayya, the legendary singer/poet of Medieval times. And Nag came out flying colors. Talk about the result. It ran for 100 days in 42 centers. He has become a household demigod with his presence of 'Annamayya'.

Every good thing in life comes with a few sacrifices. He wanted to get rid of sacred 'Annamayya' image and wanted people to accept him as a romantic hero. He produced a string of romantic films later. All of them disappointed him at box-office and he went through the same kind of lull he had after 'Shiva' and 'Hello Brother'. All his fans waited in an unabated breathlessness for him to produce a film of Shiva magnitude. And Nag did not disappointed them. He came up with the blockbuster of the year, Nuvvu Vastavani. The super good film's caption for this film, 'We don't break records ... we create records', seems to be very appropriate for Nag. Nagarjuna then did a hattrick by coming up with an Azad action film with patriotic tinge followed by a cameo in 'Ninne Premista'. This hattrick gave way to another lean patch which was broken by the stupendous hit of Santosham.

Nag is called as the celluloid scientist. He is best talent spotter around. To his credit he blooded Geetha Krishna, Ram Gopal Varma, Uppalapati Narayana Rao, Praveen Gandhi, VR Pratap and Jonnalagadda srinivasa Rao, Dasarath. He offered 'Ninne Pelladatha' to a new comer Krishna Vamsi just by looking at a 5 minute rushes of 'Gulabi'. Nag will be known as the person who changed the mindset of industry with his creative thinking. He encouraged the new technology in his films. And others followed him. Nagarjuna is never after the number game and did not encourage the culture dragging movies for 50 days and 100 days for the sake of records and false prestige.

He delivered two consecutive hits in the form of Santosham and Manmadhudu in tha last year and he is coming up with 'Shivamani 98480 22338' this year.

We, at idlebrain.com, wish Nagarjuna a momentous birthday today on 29th of August 2003. Long live Nagarjuna.

At the time of killing Mahadeva Naidu swears that 'Rudrama Naidu' would come back and destroy the villains and save the poor people. Rudrama Naidu, who is raised as 'Abhiraam', comes to know about the flash back and rest of the film is about how he takes the revenge.

    Sunny Leone Career And Life

    Career
Leone's family moved to California in 1996. After graduating high school in 1999, she began modeling and eventually transitioned into nude modeling. Leone began appearing in many magazines and websites in the nude, and eventually posed in a layout for Penthouse magazine in 2001 (Pet of the Month March). Her popularity and beauty allowed her to win the 2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year award. She mostly does softcore modeling and videos, both solo and lesbian. She has signed an exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment, where she has now moved into hardcore videos, though only lesbian. In 2004, she was part of "No more Bush Girls" , where along with several other popular adult actresses, they shaved off their pubic hair in protest of the Bush presidency. Her 2006 release, Virtual Vivid Girl Sunny Leone received five out of five stars in a review from Adult DVD Empire. She also had the honour of being the first Vivid star to have such an interactive feature ever. Her next movie is slated for release at the end of 2006 and is titled Sunny and Cher.
According to sources, she had a chance to break into the world of Bollywood movies, when director Mohit Suri approached her to take the lead role in his second movie Kalyug. [1] He says, "For Deepalâ??s role, we had originally approached Sunny Leone, a top Indian porn star, but she wasnâ??t available. She has an official website in her name, lives in the USA and is extremely beautiful. We couldnâ??t afford her; her fee is $2 million."

    Personal life
She has admitted that had she never left Canada, she would have been a different person and not gone into the adult industry . Her parents (who are both of Indian descent) are aware of her career and support her, although they want her to discontinue it. She has one brother. She is finishing college and intends to become a pediatric nurse. She currently lives with her boyfriend in Sacramento, California.
